A telephone call

About 9:30 the night before last I got a phone call from my friend Andrea who lives in Arkansas. She was sharing some wonderful news. Her up-til-now estranged son wrote her an e-mail saying, "Mom, I'm sorry I've ignored you all these years......." It made her day and lit up her life and hopefully is the beginning of a new chapter in both of their lives. Andy, now a college student, ended up on the "other side" when his parents' divorce took place and he never connected with his Mom. Until now. What a great way to start a new year. Just this morning in my devotions in The Message Bible, I read, "....iron out...differences and make up. God doesn't want his children holding grudges."

Reminiscing

I've been looking over notebooks with true stories from the past and I'll add some of them as the days go by.

Getting ready for New Year's in Tokyo

Everybody seems to be out shopping for New Year's in Tokyo. That's probably the biggest day of the year and families gather together, eat special yummy food prepared in advance so the lady of the house can really rest for a couple days.
